Poor Annika

Poor Annika, Daddy made me wear one of his old outfits!

Last Time with my Grandpa

Grandpa on Sunday (September 7th), he passed away on Wednesday(september 10th).

Grandma and I.

Annika, being her great self on the plane.  Thankfully, they had an open seat so she was able to ride in her carseat.  My arms were super happy :)
So here are a few pictures from the last time that we saw my grandpa.  He didn't want me to take his picture, and of course it's not great, but I'm glad I did.

As most of you all know I belong to a group (online) of military wife's, fiance's, girlfriends, which has been a wonderful support system throughout the years.  I haven't met in person many of these wonderful women, but I still call them my friends.  Most of us have known eachother for 4years or so.  We talk about anything from venting, to what should I do about this or information about the military.

Unfortunatly, last night there was a post about 'I need your prayers'.  One of our fellow members lost her fiance last week, while he was serving our country.  If you could keep her (her family) and his family in your prayers that would be wonderful.

Captain Michael Joseph Medders, US ARMY, will be returned home tomorrow, Tuesday September 30, 2008. The plane carrying his casket is scheduled to arrive at Lorain County Regional Airport, 44054 Russia Road, Elyria, OH at 12:37PM. Members of his family will meet the plane escorted by US ARMY Honor Guard and US ARMY Pallbearers. The Family and hearse carrying the casket will be escorted by numerous Police Departments to The Busch Funeral Home at 163 Avon-Belden Road, Avon Lake. The public is invited to line the route that his casket procession will take from the airport to the Busch Funeral Home. (See routes below) Mayor of Avon Lake Karl Zuber and Mayor of Elyria William Grace have both stated “Our communities will come together to show our respect for the tragic loss of Captain Medders, please join your fellow neighbors in showing signs of support lining the funeral processional routes Tuesday and Friday this week.”Visitation for Captain Medders will be at Avon Lake High School, 175 Avon-Belden Road, from 5-8pmWednesday, October 1, 2008 and 3-5pm & 6-9pm Thursday, October 2, 2008.Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph Church, 32929 Lake Road, Avon Lake, OHFriday, October 3 at 10:00am.Captain Michael Joseph Medders will be buried with full military honors at St. Joseph Cemetery.

Please keep all the men and women who fight for our country close in your thoughts and prayers.

On the Swing for the 1st time

9 Month Stats

We went to Annika's 9 month appointment today and all looks good.

Her Stats:
27" Long
21lbs.

She has her 2 bottom teeth and her top tooth has broken through the gum and it looks like the one right next to that is trying to come in.  (so I haven't really been getting any sleep to speak of as last night she was up every 3hrs.  We can hope that we can get some more sleep tonight.

My Wedding Dress

This is my wedding dress, or what used to be my wedding dress.  It is now a beautiful quilt hanging on the wall in our living room.  I had always wanted to make my wedding dress into a quilt and finally found a wonderful woman to do it for me!  So after 3+ years of it sitting in a box in our basement and then the outside closet we can once again enjoy the dress to its fullest.  I am so in love with the quilt that I just stare at it all the time.

Brushing Annika's teeth

Have to keep the new teeth nice and pearly white!

Teeth

Yes, that's right we have teeth!!!  Annika actually got 2 bottom teeth about a month ago, but it has been so busy here I forgot to pass on the message.  We haven't been able to get a good picture of them, yet but we are working on it.

The dough attack

This can of dough exploded before we could even open it so we put it on Annika's head :)  Yes, we are mean parents.

Annika in the Grass

What did you put me in mom?

Mmm Maybe I should eat it

I'm helping grandma cut the grass/ I'll just pull it up.

Oops, you caught me, I'm eating the grass.
This was Annika's 1st real time to just sit in the grass.  We couldn't get her to move no matter what I did.  She just sat there like she was in concrete.  I even put  her in the crawling position and she wouldn't move.  Poor kid just doesn't know what to do in grass since we don't have much here in Arizona.

Annika and her G-Gaf (yes I mean Giraffe)

I found this rocker at the new (very small) Tuesday Morning that just opened up in our small town.  She loves her G-gaf!

Sorry Its been awhile!

Sorry, I haven't blogged in awhile.  My grandpa was taken to the ER about 3 weeks ago and then admitted to the ICU.  I was able to fly out 2 days later and be with him.  We found out he has a large mass in his upper right lung and it's terminal.  He decided against treatment and we were able to bring him home just over a week ago now (with the help of some care-givers and a New great Hospice group).

Annika and I are home now and we're very glad to see Brett.

Apple Annies

The other day some of the mom's in my mom's group went together to the apple orchard called apple annies.  We had a great time picking of course apples (though they have lots of other fruits and veggies).  I hope to go back on a weekend when I can get an apple fried hamburger.  Here are many pictures from the trip.

Our Kitty loves Binkies!

So I got Annika a few new binkies for daycare because they are easier to label than what we use now. Well one was on the ground, and I guess 'Pissy' wanted to play with it (or use it as a binky as well).

Couch to 5k

Well I've decided that I really need to get into the swing of working out again and eating better.  We don't want annika eating junk food so Brett and I will also be starting to eat healthier.

I found a few of the moms in my Mom's Group that are also interested and that way we can hold each other accountable and make sure we are there to work-out.

So I will be doing Couch to 5k runs on MWF, and abs and such on TTH.  Brett and I have decided that we will get a dessert treat on Wednesday and will eat out on Saturday.

I have done this program before but only made it to week 3 or 4 and this time our goal is to actually do a 5k at the end.  Granted I can't seem to find a 5k around this area intill February but what can ya do, except to keep looking.  Maybe the post is holding one I don't know about.

So I raise my glass to getting back in shape :)
